Franziska Gerber is pictured here, in the middle of the front row, with five of her six sons. Her fourth son, Gustaf Heinrich Gerber died before the age of one year.
George Louis Gerber is in the front row, far left. The other son in the front row, far right, may be Otto Hugo Gerber. In the back middle of the back row is Rudolph Mathias Gerber.
We have not been able to identify which of the other two men in the back row is Philip Adolph Geber and which is Frederick William Gerber. If you can help us with this, please contact us.
Franceska's husband, George Jacob Gerber, was not included in the portrait. This may help to date the photo. George Jacob died in 1881 and Rudolph Mathias, the youngest of the children, died tragically in 1915.
