The database of 6,584 individuals in 2,120 families was last updated on 12 October 2008.
It contains all the genealogical data we have collected on the Fiegebaums and associated families - names, dates and relationships. In order to provide some measure of privacy, we do not present details of individuals who are living or who may be living (that is, they were born after 1912 and we know of no certain death date).
We have included many notes, and some documents, to accompany the basic facts and have attempted to document all our sources. The efforts from the early years of our research are less thorough and professional than they should have been. As time allows, we will be making corrections.
It is important to note that this information is preliminary. Not every fact comes from an unimpeachable source and most have not been verified. Also, corrections and additions are always being made. We welcome your help.
Instructions for Searching
The search form on this page covers only the database, not the rest of the web site. The search function is very robust and will retrieve records that contain the terms you type. For example, a search for the term Eric will also find Erick, Dieterich, Friederick, Fredericka, etc.
- Umlauts are ignored. Höfer is the same as Hofer; but not the same as Hoefer.
- Begeman will also find Begemann, but not vice versa.
- Try all possible spellings: Brockmeier and Brockmeyer; Louise and Luise.
- If you are not sure if I have spelled 'Henriette' ending with an 'e' or an 'a' search for 'Henriett' (I use both spellings, just as I found it in the records).
The Advanced Search form has more parameters and options than you can shake a stick at. Drill down to your heart's content.
