  Married: According to the 1900 U.S. census, Thomas and Eudoxia had been married for 27 years and she was the mother of four children, three of whom were still alive. Census (family): According to the 1880 U.S. enumeration, the household consisted of Lewis Thomas, a 54 year old teamster, his wife; Eudoxia Lewis, age 48, Mathilda Lewis, his 22 year old step-daughter, Jane Lewis, his 19 year old step-daughter, and Jesse Lynch, a 3 year old grand-daughter. According to the 1900 U.S. enumeration, the household consisted of Thomas J. Lewis, a 75 year old retired blacksmith, his wife of 27 years, Eudoxia A.
