His [Fritz Starkebaum's] wife, Wilhelmina Biesemier [sic], was also born in Germany. She bore her husband eight children, of whom our subject [Henry L. Starkebaum] is the fifth."

Died at 3:00 a.m. on 24 October 1934 at Higginsville, Dover Township, Lafayette County, Missouri at the age of 67 years, 1 months, 21 days. His usual residence was not recorded. He was widowed at the time of death; the name of the spouse was not recorded His usual occupation was "Cabinet Maker." Cause of death was "Myocarditis; Arteriosclerosis." Contributory cause of death was "Chronic alcoholism Cirrhosis (Liver)." There was no operation prior to death. There was no autopsy. Diagnosis was confirmed by "Physical clinical" test. Burial,cremation, or removal was to be on October 1934 in "Evg. Cemetery." The funeral director was Hoefer & Meinershagen, of Higginsville, Missouri. Personal information was provided by Harry Ainsworth, of Higginsville, Missouri. W. "His [Henry L. Starkebaum's] father, Fritz Starkebaum, was born in Lippe-Detmold, where he engaged in farming until he came to America and located in Warren County, Mo., where he purchased a farm of two hundred acres. In 1876, he came to La Fayette [sic] County and located on a farm of one hundred and sixty acres, one and one-half miles south of Higginsville, that he improved and on which he still resides."
"Henry L. was reared in Warren County until nine years of age, when he came to La Fayette County, and remained on the farm until he had attained his twentieth year." According to this biographical sketch, Henry L. Starkebaum was born on September 3, 1867. He would have turned nine in 1876.
