    • According to a biographical sketch of his son, Henry L. Starkebaum, published in 1893, Friedrich H. "Fritz" Starkebaum, relocated from Warren County to Lafayette County in 1876. Henry made the same move at the age of nine year (which would have occurred in 1876). The sketch does not say so, but presumably Fritz's wife and any of their unmarried children also took up residence in Lafayette County.

Her usual residence was in the rural area south of Higginsville, Davis [Township], Lafayette County, Missouri. She was a housekeeper. She was married at the time of death; the spouse's name was Rudolph Lefman. She was not a veteran of the U.S. armed services. She had no Social Security number. Cause of death was "Chronic valvular disease;" of over three years duration. There was no autopsy. Burial was to be at "Evangelical" Cemetery at Higginsville, Missouri on 6 December 1949.       "His [Henry L. Starkebaum's] father, Fritz Starkebaum, was born in Lippe-Detmold, where he engaged in farming until he came to America and located in Warren County, Mo., where he purchased a farm of two hundred acres. In 1876, he came to La Fayette [sic] County and located on a farm of one hundred and sixty acres, one and one-half miles south of Higginsville, that he improved and on which he still resides."
           "Henry L. was reared in Warren County until nine years of age, when he came to La Fayette County, and remained on the farm until he had attained his twentieth year." According to this biographical sketch, Henry L. Starkebaum was born on September 3, 1867. He would have turned nine in 1876.
