      Inscription on gravestone in oldest cemetery at Immanuels United Church of Christ at Holstein, Warren County, Missouri: "Anna E Fiegenbaum / geb. 13. Aug. 1864 / Gest. 16. Juni 1871." This cemetery is across the street from the brick church dedicated in 1884 as the German Evangelical Immanuels Church of Holstein, Missouri (known since 1957 as Immanuels United Church of Christ). The cemetery is next to and south of the parsonage and on the site of the first church built in Holstein, known as the German Lutheran Church on Charrette (1839-1848).

      In a manuscript record of their children's births and baptisms, Anna's parents wrote the following: "Unser Tochter Anna Elisabeth geboren den 13. I have translated this as: "Our daughter Anna Elisabeth born on the 13th of August/ at 1 o'clock in the morning and baptized on the 7th of September in the year 1864."

           Compare this date of birth with the birth date in the published baptism record on page 110 of this source, with the birth date in the parents' manuscript record, and with the inscription on the gravestone.

      Hermanda reports that Hermann married "Florentine Charl. Wehrmann geb. 07.10.1834 in Lippe Detmold, gest. 01.02.1903." She does not give a date.

"State of Missouri, County of Warren: I certify that I have joined in matrimony on the 18th day of February, 1853, Mr Herman Fiegenbaum and Miss Florintine Wehrmann, both of this County and state. Given under my hand and seal this 4th day of May A.D. 1853. Recorded June 10th 1853. Jos. Riegur {seal}. Thoman J. Marshall, Recorder."
           Joseph Riegur certified two other marriages just above this entry and in both of those cases he was identified as a "German Evangel. Minister." Joseph Rieger was the Pastor of the German Evangelical Church on Charrette in Holstein, Missouri from 1847 to 1860 (the church has been known as Immanuels United Church of Christ since 1957).
