The Certificate of Marriage certified that Rev. Martin L. Seybold "a Citizen of the United States and a resident Pastor of Zion's Evangelical Church Mayview Missouri legally qualified under the Laws of the State of Missouri to solemize Marriages" did marry the above name persons at Mayview, Lafayette County, on 27 October 1922 and filed the Certificate with the County Recorder on 2 November 1922.
