Charlotte Gerber; married 18 years; 5 children born to this mother, 4 of whom are living at the time of the census. There is no indication in the census of the dead child's birth order. Considering that the surviving children are born at 2 year intervals from one another, and that there is a 5 year period between the marriage and the birth of the oldest surviving child, I have, for the time being, placed this unknown child at the beginning of the birth order. This is an arbitrary decision on my part and requires confirmation.
