           The account reports that the parents were married in Warren County, Missouri, moved in 1884 to a farm near Mayview, Lafayette County, Missouri. In 1892 they settled on a farm near Odessa, Lafayette County, Missouri. This would suggest that Alvin's birth took place in Lafayette County.

      Account: "C. A. Begemann Family" submitted by Clara Werning. C. A. (Karl August) Begemann "married Wilhelmine Wehking, born November 14, 1859, on August 29, 1878...." C. A. (Karl August) and Wilhelmine (Wehking) Begemann had 10 children. One of their daughters died in infancy.
           This account also reported that the parents and nine children emigrated from Germany in 1861 and that one child died during the voyage and was buried at sea. This would indicate that only eight children immigrated to the USA.
