"In the year 1865 he [H. A. Schoppenhorst] was married to Miss Fredericka Huenefeld, purchased a farm and for some time followed farm pursuits until he developed one of the finest estates in the county, where he has spent over 60 years of his life. His wife passed away December 18. 1867, leaving one daughter, Mary C., widow of the late Carl Wegener."
