This farm was located in Van Buren Township, the Northwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section Thirty-Five (35), Town Number Six (6), Range Number 5 East."

This farm was located in Auglaize County, Washington Township, the East-Half of the Northwest Quarter of Section Twenty-Seven (27), Town Number Six (6) South, Range Number 5 East. Later they purchased an additional forty acres for $25.00 an acre on January 9, 1869. This was in Washington Township, the Northeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section Twenty-Seven (27), Town Number Six (6) South, Range Number 5 East. This is where the family grew up and Herman and Christina spent the rest of their life in this area as farmers."
