"Heinrich Adolf Fiegenbaum, born 10 Jan 1814 at Ladbergen-Wester 21.
"The following is of general interest:
"The above named was single and emigrated on his own. Most probably he is also a son of Johann Heinrich Fiegenbaum. - Maybe that he stayed at Ladbergen for two years when his family had departed already. - It was the custom at that time that usually one member of the emigrated family stayed at home until the family had settled down well.: That was necessary in case the family or one member of the family returned, or shipwrecked persons came back, or members of the family who had fallen ill, or orphans - who were unable to earn their living - were sent back from America, they had at least one relative in their native country who looked after them and cared for them."
