Missouri State Board of Health, Certificate of Death #13746. For Fredrick William Knapheide. Born 12 April 1849 at Marthyville [sic], Missouri. Father's name: Ernest W. Knapheide; born in Germany. Mother's maiden name: Elizabeth Calmarton [sic]; born in Germany. Died at 10:35 p.m. on 23 April 1919 Independence, Jackson County, Missouri at the age of 70 years, - months, 11 days. His usual residence was 1105 South Main, [Independence, Missouri]. He was widowed at the time of death; he had been married to "Mathilde Knapheide." He was a retired farmer. Cause of death was "Capetary [sic] Bronchitis" (28 days duration). Contributory cause of death was "chronic myocarditis" (2-3 years duration) [see supplementary certificate]. Disease was contracted at home. There was no operation prior to death.. There was no autopsy. Diagnosis was confirmed by clinical test. Burial, cremation, or removal was to be 2[7?] april 1919 in "Buckner Cemetary [sic]. The undertaker was H. J. Ott and Co., of Independence, Missouri. Personal information was provided by P. W. Knapheide, of Buckner, Missouri. N. [P?] Wood, M.D., of Independence, Missouri, had attended the deceased from 2[5?] March 1919 to 23 April 1919 and signed the death certificate on 25 April 1919. The certificate was received by the local registrar on 25 April 1919.
