Engel Maria Beickman, daughter of Carl and Anna Bieckman, born 20 September 1845 in Buckeborg, Hanover, Germany (page 1). Date of birth obtained in 2004 from genealogical data posted at RootsWeb.com by J. Mark Fiegenbaum (footnote 6, page 7). Place of birth from Schröer family oral tradition: "According to the great granddaughter of Engel Maria Beickman, her grandmother, Alwina Schroer Griesinger Korspeter always told her that the Beickman's came from Buckeborg, Hanover, Germany. They lived in a castle. Maria's job in the castle was to tend the geese" (page 1) [the great granddaughter mentioned here is Virginia Buddemeyer, mother of Chandra A. (Miller) Hoffman].
