"She [Sophia Brundieck] came from Westfalen by herself in 1848....Sophia was relatively young when she died on May 21, 1877 at the age of 44." By calculation from these facts, Sophia would have been born about 1832-1833.

"[Heinrich Rudolph Utlaut] was living in the Holstein area when he married Sophia Brundieck, who could very easily have been his childhood sweetheart. She came from Westfalen by herself in 1848 as indicated by the Passenger and Immigration Lists Index. She apparently joined her sister Elisabeth and her husband Ernst F. Schomberg and lived with them in the Holstein area until her marriage to Rudolph [Utlaut]."

"RUDOLPH UTHLAUT courted and married SOPHIA BRUNDIECK, who was born February 2, 1833, in Germany. Just when and where they were wed or where SOPHIA grew up is not known, but it is quite likely they were united in marriage in Holstein, since it is known that a sister of SOPHIA married a Mr. Schomberg who lived his life in that community. After their marriage RUDOLPH and SOPHIA moved to Osage County, Missouri and went into housekeeping on a farm at Deer, Missouri, where they actively engaged in tilling the soil. There they raised their family amidst sorrow and joy, becoming the parents of seven children."
