           The essay identifies Alphonse Charpentier and Josephine Lutz as the parents of 6 children and also as the parents of 5 children. Only the names of five are mentioned: Josephine, August, Joseph, Mary and Augusta.
           The dates and places of the births are not given. Alphonse Charpentier, born in France, is identified as having become an official of the city government of Strasbourg, France when a young man and as having been a resident of the city until his death at the age of 52 years. Josephine Lutz is said to have been born in Strasbourg. It has been assumed, without verification, that all of the children were born in Strasbourg.
