Biography of George Arnhold.
"Settling up his affairs in the fall of 1852, he [Philip Arnhold] started soon after for America, with his family embarking in a sailing vessel, and after a tiresome voyage of sixty-six days landing in New Orleans. Coming from there to Missouri, he spent six months in St. Louis, and then came by boat to St. Joseph."
Although it can not be know how many of Philip's eight children are meant by the phrase "with his family," it seems reasonable to assume that his wife, Caroline Klos, was included in this voyage.

Biography of George Arnhold.
Philip Arnhold emigrated from Bavaria with his family about 1852, lived for about six month is St. Louis, and finally settled in St. Joseph, Missouri, where he resided until his death at the age of 70. His wife, Caroline (Klos) Arnhold survived him, living to the age of 82. It seems reasonable to assume that she undertook the same voyage as her husband and lived for some time in St. Joseph, Missouri. Whether she died there or while residing with one of her children at another location is not mentioned in this essay.
