    • In a 1904 newspaper article commemorating his mother's 75th birthday, Mary Rankin Bradrick is identified as the mother of five children, four of whom are still living. Elijah's siblings are mentioned by name, but he is not. It is assumed that he was the child who died before 1904.

           "Mrs Bradrick is the mother of five children, four of whom are living."
           The article then mentions the four living children: Charles H., William H., Anna Birdsall, and Mary Bell. Elijah is not mentioned.

           "Mrs. Mary R. Bradrick...is the widow of the Rev. I. A. Bradrick, a noted Methodist clergyman, .... Mrs. Bradrick was married on Washington's birthday 50 years ago the 22d of last February, at Newark, Ohio....Mrs Bradrick is the mother of five children, four of whom are living."
           According to this account, the marriage would have taken place on 22 February 1854.
