Elma Grace Pitts, child of Edwin Williams and Lucy McCandless, was born on 21 August 1904 at Glencoe, Payne County, Oklahoma.
Although Gretchen Leenerts did not report it, I have assumed that Pitts is the surname from Elma's first marriage.

Gretchen Leenerts did not mention this marriage. It has been assumed from a collection of small facts as reported by Gretchen.
Elma Grace Pitts, as she was identified by Gretchen, did not have the same surname as her father as might be expected at that era.
Elma's children were born quite some time before her marriage to Andrew John Wellemeyer. The children bore the Pitts surname as well as the Wellemeyer surname. This may be an artifact of the genealogical software Gretchen used or it may have indicated that Andrew John Wellemeyer had adopted the children. About this matter, Gretchen made no comment.

Andrew John Wellemeyer and Elma Grace Pitts were married on 30 May 1937 at Dallas, Dallas County, Texas.
