"Arthur Wellemeyer was born 22 February 1880 in Sibley County, Minnesota near Henderson. He was the fourth of a family of nine children born to his parents, Reverend Frank and Mary Klaus Wellemeyer."

"In 1906, at the age of twenty-six, Lydia Griewe and Arthur Wellemeyer were married. They farmed for one year, and then moved to Klemme. Here they built a house, raised their family of five, and were a part of Klemme life for over forty years."
