After the "early death of her father," Cora, her brother, her sister and her mother moved to Effingham, Illinois. Cora resided here for three years; the obituary does not mention how long the others were in Illinois. Cora's mother is identified as Mary B. Lint; John Lint, of Polk City, Iowa is named as her step-father. Mrs. Mary Banning, of Des Moines is named as Cora's half-sister; Henry Lint, of Ankeny; and Oscar Lint and Edwin Lint, both of Polk City, Iowa, are named as her half-brothers.
