Transcription provided by Thomas L. Scribner. Family researchers believe the obituary was most likely placed in a local Sallisaw, Oklahoma newspaper. Thomas Scribner states that Elmer was one of nine children born to Reverend John S. Davis and Margaret Davis. Elmer's obituary names seven of these siblings: "Surviving relatives are...three brothers, W. S. Davis of LeRoy, Kansas; Bland Davis of West Fork, Arkansas; and Frank Davis of Sallisaw; four sisters, Mrs. Eliza Davis of West Fork, Mrs. Cora Payne of Tulsa, Mrs. Hattie Kidd of Colorado, and Miss Myra Davis of Sallisaw;...."
