         An index of burials through December 2002 at Mount Hope Cemetery published in 2003 by the Brown County Genealogical Society (Hiawatha, Kansas) lists a James H. Wilson, born on 18 January 1924 and died on 23 March 1976. This date of death is in marked contrast to information published in an obituary for James' wife, Mary M. Wilson, where the death is said to have occurred on 22 August 1994.

    According to one of her obituaries:

    "Mary was born near Morrill in Brown County, November 10, 1923, one of four children of Carl and Anna Kruse Fiegenbaum and had lived most of her life in the northeast Kansas area. She attended grade schools in Kansas, graduating from high school from Greensburg, IN in 1941. A week later, she moved back to Hiawatha, KS with her family."


    Buried:
    Funeral services were planned for 10 a.m. Monday, 16 April 2007, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Fairview, Brown County, Kansas. Mary was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and of the Dorcas Society of the Church. She was also a member of Thrivent Association of Lutherans. Mary was buried at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hiawatha, Kansas.

    Died:
    Mary died at the Sabetha Community Hospital where she had been a patient for a day. She had been a resident of the Sabetha Manor since August 2005.

         According to an unidentified newspaper article (photocopy provided by Dorothy and Edna Hilgemann), Carl and Anna celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on June 4, 1967 at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Jim Wilson of Fairview, Kansas. A 2007 obituary for their daughter, states that Mary M. Fiegenbaum graduated from a Greenburg, Indiana high school in 1941, and that a week later the family returned to Hiawatha, Kansas.
         The place where the marriage took place has been reported as both Hiawatha, Kansas and Morill, Kansas. The location needs to be confirmed.


    Residence (family):

         According to information on his World War I draft registration card, filed on 15 June 1918, Carl F. Fiegenbaum lived at Morrill, Kansas. Carl reported that he was self employed at Morrill; the registration card did not request his occupation. His nearest relative was Mrs. Emma Fiegenbaum, of Fairview, Kansas. The registration card did not request his marital status. The Registrar of the local draft board, C. W. Biddle, described Carl as a man of medium height and slender build; with brown eyes and brown hair. There were no physical characteristics that would disqualify Carl for military service.
