    Caroline's preference for her nickname of Lena was so strong, according to family stories, that her use of it in place of her legal given name raised some difficulties when she applied for her Social Security benefits. It was also the name inscribed on her gravestone.

    Lena is buried in the Lexington Memorial Gardens at Lexington, Missouri. Her gravestone records her name as "Lena A. Struchtemeyer." Her family reports that she used Lena to the exclusion of Caroline.

    According to the 1900 U.S. enumeration, Emma Fiegenbaum, age 2, lived on a farm with her parents, William (age 38) and Henriette Fiegenbaum (age 27) and her brother, Martin Fiegenbaum, age 5. Also in the household was Jim Britts, a 19 year old black hired hand.

Th. Berlekamp." Rev. Berlekamp was pastor of Zion Evangelical Church from 1918 to 1920
