Conrad and his first wife, Caroline, landed at the port of New Orleans and took passage up the Mississippi River by boat. They settled on 40 acres south of Warrenton, in Warren County, Missouri.

Died:
Caroline died of cholera on the land she and her husband settled in Warren County, Missouri.
