    Mathilda never married. According to Charlotte (Gerber) Krejci, Mathilda helped Charlotte Caroline Brockmeyer and her husband, Louis August Gerber, purchase their home at 5004 Idaho Avenue in St. Louis, Missouri, with the understanding that she would live with them for the remainder of her life. Charlotte Krejci recalls that the house cost $2,000-2,500.

    Mathilda worked in the cafeteria at Cleveland High School in St. Louis, and lived in the second floor apartment at 5004 Idaho Avenue until her death.

    Buried:
    Mathilda is buried in Park Lawn Cemetery.

    Died:
    Mathilda died about mid-day at City Hospital of cerebral apoplexy after a stay of 82 days.
