Earl and Linwood Jungerman, in their family genealogy, have written: "She [Catherine] had two daughters, Hannah (5) and Rachael (2) when they arrived [in Jefferson County, Missouri in 1855]. ...All the children remained here [when their mother returned to Germany and died there in 1861]."

Birth:
Andreas's exact date of birth is not known; it could be either 1824 or 1826. The earliest known written record of the birth date in the USA is the 1860 U.S. Census for Jefferson County, Missouri. Whether Elizabeth Urspurch was his mother is also not known with certainty.

Immigration:
Andreas, with up to 10 other members of his extended family, emigrated from Germany to Jefferson County, Missouri in 1855. Earl and Linwood (Nelson) Jungerman, in compiling their history of the Jungermann family, believe strongly that this group of emigrants arrived in Kimmswick (Jefferson County), Missouri in the summer of 1855, although they have no documentation of this. Nevertheless, various members of the family are connected through the years with St. John's Lutheran Church of Beck (Jefferson County), Missouri.

Military Service:
Andreas was enlisted in the Union Army and served under General Pike at Meramec Bridge.

Birth:
The Kleinern Ortssippenbuch, published in 1996, records the date of Conrad's death as 3 January 1849, at an age of 47 years and 8 months. This yields a calculated date of birth of 3 May 1801. Other sources give the date as 30 April 1801.

Occupation:

     Conrad has been identified in the Kleinern Ortssippenbuch (a compiled genealogy of the town of Kleinern) as a "Schuhmachermeister" (a master shoemaker) and also a "Köthner" or a cottager, meaning that he had rights to a small house, a garden and a small plot of land on which to raise a limited amount of livestock.

Johann married Urspurch, Elizabeth 2 Aug 1826, Hemfurth, Principality of Waldeck. Elizabeth was born 19 May 1807, Hemfurth, Principality of Waldeck; died 6 Jan 1853, Kleinern, Prinicipality of Waldeck. [Group Sheet]
