    In the 1880 U.S. Census, Gottlieb, age 75, is the sole member of the household, but at least one family member, Johann Dietrich Begemann, appears to be living nearby. Another son, Karl August Begemann, also lived in Pinckney Township during this census enumeration. The location of Gottlieb's daughters is not known at this time.
