They were married by Rev. F. Egger, who took pains to add by hand to the marriage license that he was "a resident Pastor of the Evangelical Church at Holstein, Missouri." Wilhelm Oberhelmann and Hilda Knapheide were the witnesses.

Marriage License:
The application for a marriage license, date 8 April 1914, and the marriage license both affirmed that "Otto H. Knapheide," of Marthasville, Warren County, Missouri, age 25, and "Emma M. Oberhelman," of Holstein, Warren County, Missouri, age 25, were both legally able to marry.
     The statements in the marriage license application were sworn to before and the application was signed by "H. A. Oberhelman, Justice of the Peace." This is probably Emma's father.
