Dorothy Lorraine Riekhof, 76, of Higginsville, died Saturday, June 21, 2003 at her home.
She was born Sept. 13, 1926 in Miami, Okla., the daughter of John Henry Fiegenbaum and Katherine Margaret (Maun) Fiegenbaum.
On May 5, 1950 she married Richard Q. Riekhof.
She was a former schoolteacher and later worked as a Nurse's Aid at the Higginsville Habilitation Center, retiring in 1991. She lived in the Higginsville area all of her life. she was a member of Salem United church of Christ in Higginsville, the Southside Club and Circle #2 of the Women's Fellowship of Salem UCC.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard on March 29, 2000 and a brother.
Survivors include five sons, David (Nancy) Riekhof of Floyd Knobs, Ind., Nathan Riekhof of Higginsville, Aaron (Deborah) Riekhof of Lee's Summit, Adlai (Rhonda) Riekhof of St. Joseph and Jon (Debi) Riekhof of Franklin; one daughter, Brenda (Curtis) Langewisch of Higginsville; one brother, Dr. J. W. Fiegenbaum of South Hampton, Mass.; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, June 23 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Hoefer Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 24 at 10 a.m. at Salem United Church of Christ in Higginsville with Rev. Dr. Isaiah Muita officiating. Organist was Doris Jane Stoner. Burial was in Salem Cemetery in Higginsville.
Pallbearers were David Riekhof, Aaron Riekhof, Jon Riekhof, Nathan Riekhof, Adlai Riekhof and Curtis Langewisch.
Memorial contributions may be made to Salem United Church of Christ or Kansas City Hospice.

Riekhof, and Dorothy Lorraine Fiegenbaum, both of Higginsville, Lafayette County, Missouri, received a marriage license at Lexington, Lafayette County, Missouri, on 4 May 1950 and they were married at Mayview, Lafayette County, Missouri, on 5 May 1950. Richard and Dorothy were married by at Rev. Warren R. Mahl at Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church (known since 1957 as Zion United Church of Christ Church).
