  [S175] Frances Gretchen (Klein) Leenerts, Descendants of Father Fiegenbaum (Chinook, Washington: F. Leenerts, 2002), page 120. Clarence Pickenbrock, son of Albert Pickenbrock and Nancy Rittgers, was born on 9 July 1877 at Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa.      Gretchen Leenerts reported that she was given her spelling of the family name - Pickenbrock - from a niece of Emily Louise (Sexauer) Pieckenbrock, who at the time was president of the Ankeny, Iowa Historical Society. [S115] Lauren Michel, Pieckenbrock family research, Email on 25 August 2003 to J. Mark Fiegenbaum. Lauren Michel is a grand-daughter of Viola Marie Pieckenbrock.      "As far as I know, 'Pieckenbrock' is the correct spelling. ... My mother always called her grandmother Emily Pieckenbrock, 'Grandma Pieckie,' which is how the name sticks in my memory."
