           Cecil F. Fiegenbaum, age 93, of Topeka, passed away Thursday evening in Topeka. He was born October 26, 1918 in Brown County, Kansas the son of Carl Fiegenbaum and Anna Kruse Fiegenbaum. He married Will "Billie" Mason December 11, 1949 at Shreveport, LA. She preceded him in death December 10, 2001. Cecil served in the U.S. Army as a cook before joining and serving in the U.S. Air Force for over 30 years where he served during W.W. II. He later worked for Shawnee County at Lake Shawnee, retiring in 1981. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
           Graveside services will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Hiawatha, KS. He will lie in state Sunday afternoon from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Shelter and left in care of the Davidson Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made to davidsonfuneral.com.

    •      According to an unidentified newspaper article (photocopy provided by Dorothy and Edna Hilgemann), Carl and Anna celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on June 4, 1967 at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Jim Wilson of Fairview, Kansas. A 2007 obituary for their daughter, states that Mary M. Fiegenbaum graduated from a Greenburg, Indiana high school in 1941, and that a week later the family returned to Hiawatha, Kansas.
           The place where the marriage took place has been reported as both Hiawatha, Kansas and Morill, Kansas. The location needs to be confirmed.

    •      According to information on his World War I draft registration card, filed on 15 June 1918, Carl F. Fiegenbaum lived at Morrill, Kansas. Carl reported that he was self employed at Morrill; the registration card did not request his occupation. His nearest relative was Mrs. Emma Fiegenbaum, of Fairview, Kansas. The registration card did not request his marital status. The Registrar of the local draft board, C. W. Biddle, described Carl as a man of medium height and slender build; with brown eyes and brown hair. There were no physical characteristics that would disqualify Carl for military service.

Fiegenbaum was identified as the child of Anna Kruse Fiegenbaum and Carl Fiegenbaum, both alive and residents of Fairview, Kansas. Cecil was born at Morrille, Kansas, was white, and 31 years of age. His occupation was "U.S. Air Force". He had been previously married to LoRee Brock; she was living; that marriage had ended in divorce.

The place of marriage may be "Shreveport", abbreviated. The witnesses appear to have been Mrs. and Mr. [Harney?] [Scaggs?]. Lothar Kleinhans performed the marriage; his office as either a minister of the Gospel, a judge or a justice of the peace was not noted.
