           ETLING -- Entered into rest on Saturday, August 19, 1916, at 8 a.m., in his 43d year, after a short illness, Charles Etling, beloved son of Isabella and the late George Etling, dear brother of Mrs. I. Sutter, Mrs. Phil Ros, Mrs. F. M. Elworthy, Hannah E. Etling and Ellsworth B. Etling, and our dear uncle.
           Funeral Monday, August 21, at 3 p.m., from residence, 3100 North Taylor avenue.
           Strictly private.

      Charles had been suffering from pulmonary tuberculosis for about six months and died at his home after about a 10 day bout of hemoptysis.

Mother's maiden name: Isebell Johnsen, born in England. Died 8:00 a.m. on 19 August 1916, at 3100 N. Taylor Ave., St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 43 years, 9 months, 12 days. He was a waiter. He was married at the time of death; the spouse's name was not recorded. Principal cause of death was "Haemoptysis" of 10 days duration. Contributory cause was "Pulmonary tuberculosis" of 6 months duration. Burial was to be 21 August 1916 in Bellfontaine Cemetery. The undertaker was G. Bockers, [illegible], of 4438 N. Goth??? [or 20th?] Street. Personal information was provided by Mrs. Isabelle Sutter, of 3100 N. Taylor Ave. W. [L?]. Galloway, MD, of 1232 N. Taylor Ave., had attended the deceased from 17 August 1916 to 19 August 1916 and signed the certificate on 19 August 1916. Certificate filed with the local registrar on 21 August 1916.
