Mother's maiden name: Friederike Toelle. Died on 23 December 1954 at General Hospital No. 1, Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri after a stay of 4 years at the age of 70 years. His usual residence was 1118 East 8th Street, Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri. He was widowed at the time of death. His usual occupation was a farmer. He had not served in the U.S. armed forces. No social security number was recorded. Direct cause of death was "2nd and 3rd Degree Burns." Due to "Trunk & Limbs.". There was an autopsy. The death was described as an Accident at Home at Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri, on 22 December 1954. The "Home caught fire." Removal was to be on 24 December 1954 to "Evangelical Cem[etery]" at Higginsville, Missouri. The funeral director was C. H. Blackman & Son, Inc., of Kansas City, Missouri. Personal information was provided by Mrs. Reinhart [sic] Riekhof, of Higginsville, Missouri. Hugh H. Owens, Coroner, of 1034 Rialto Building, signed the death certificate on 23 December 1954. The certificate was received by the local registrar on 24 December 1954.
The lenght of stay - 4 years - recorded for the Place of Death (General Hospital No. 1) was probably not met to describe the time spent in the hospital, but the length of residence at Kansas City.
