Digital image of gravestone of "Elizabeth A., wife of Rev. H. R. Fiegenbaum" taken in 2002 at Concord Cemetery in Garner, Iowa and sent to J. Mark Fiegenbaum on 31 January 2005. The inscription on marker continues: "...Died Sept. 23, 1877, Aged 40 yrs, 3 mos. & 19 days." This calculates to a date of birth of approximately 4 June 1837. This gravestone is adjacent to the marker for "Henry Rudolph Fiegenbaum."

At the time the biographical sketch in this book was written (published in 1913), three children were yet living: Emma Allen of Denver, Colorado; Charles H. Fiegenbaum of Dubuque, Iowa; and Arthur F. Fiegenbaum of Spokane, Washington.
